After 4 months travelling from Thailand to Myanmar, here I am, ready for more adventures from Sri Lanka to the Philippines. Follow my backpacker trip and enjoy little anecdotes and travel tips. Love*

DAY136: Bohol, Tarsier sanctuary, cock fight farm, Chocolate hills, Butterfly habitat, Loboc hanging bridge, Panglao, Dojo beach

8am: Everybody woke up so early in the dorm, I couldn't sleep in or anything. Already at breakfast, taking in the amazing scenery. And today, I plan to explore Bohol on a scooter, that'll remind me of Indonesia and it'll be the first time I ride a scooter in the Philippines.

9.30am: First stop: the tarsier sanctuary. The tarsier is the smallest primate in the world - and they insist that you should not mistake primates and monkeys because the split between them happened a very long time ago. It is the size of a mouse. Its eyes are 150 times bigger than humans' eyes relative to its body size. This makes it look like the cross between 'Puss in boots' from Shrek and Yoda from Star Wars. You couldn't resist its tiny cutie face. It can rotate its head at 360 degrees (180 degrees on each side). Definitely the cutest animals I've seen.

10am: Second stop was unplanned, just out of curiosity: Loboc cockfight farm. I noticed many many little wooden constructions in a field and decided to stop by. Under those tiny roofs directly on the ground were roosters. I asked the guys that were sitting around and they told me they were raised to fight. They asked me if I wanted to see a fight but I'm not into it... Animal cruelty is not my thing. But they invited me and wanted me to take a picture with a rooster in my hands which was quite funny.

11am: Me and my pink scooter were very happy to ride together her up to the Chocolate Hills. I can only assume for her because she doesn't talk to me. The road is extremely beautiful, I could stop every two minutes to take some pictures.

11.30am: The Chocolate Hills consist of 1.268 mounds with the same shape. They are made of corals and shell fragments that were moved there 2 millions years ago by some geological phenomenon. The term 'chocolate' refers to the brown color the hills have during dry season but they were totally green when I went there. It's very scenic and it allows you to see how natural Bohol still is.

1.30pm: Had lunch at the Butterfly habitat after visiting the farm. It's a nice little place that you visit in about half an hour. My guide, Delphin, was very funny and entertaining. He even took a picture of me with butterfly wings haha. Nice stop and the food was good and cheap.

2.30pm: Had troubles finding the Loboc Hanging bridge I had been told about. There are actually two bamboo bridges crossing the river. Not sure it's worth the 12.8km detour I had to make because I missed a turn. But it's beautiful and there's a famous guy there ripping coconuts open with his teeth. His a local celebrity. Crazy!

3pm: Met a nice couple from the UK there: Emma and Callum. We were in the same boat from Cebu. What a small world. Had a nice chat and laughed a lot.

4.30pm: They told me about a beach where I could watch the sunset from. So I headed there with my partner in crime: the pink scooter. Now I'll just lay there, read a book, take a nap and maybe swim until it's time. It was a busy day! I did more than I expected already.

7pm: The sunset alone on the beach was pretty cool. Decided to trust my GPS to take me back to the hostel. It obviously doesn't know that it's not easy to take a dirty and stony road in the middle of nowhere especially at night. But it's part of the adventure it seems.
