After 4 months travelling from Thailand to Myanmar, here I am, ready for more adventures from Sri Lanka to the Philippines. Follow my backpacker trip and enjoy little anecdotes and travel tips. Love*

DAY142: From Cebu to Palawan, from Puerto Princessa to El Nido

7am: Had a very short night even though I was really tired. People kept coming and going in and out of the room. It was so annoying! And this morning a guy is coughing pretty badly... The only good and strange thing from this night is: I dreamed about my dad - he passed away twenty years ago. I was telling him 'we don't look too much like each other anymore. There is still something maybe because we are both tanned'. Then I gave him a big hug and said 'I wanted to do that one last time' to which he answered 'This is not the last time you do that'. I really need to figure out what that means :-)

9.30am: Tried to plan my trip in Palawan this morning and it seems I don't have enough time to do the popular cruise from El Nido to Coron so I'll have to find an alternative. Not easy to know the appropriate amount of time to spend in different islands unfortunately.

12pm: The airport is quite far from Cebu city. It's as expensive to go from the city to the airport (18km) as going from Malapascua back to Cebu (which is 150km away). Crazy! But the traffic's hell like in any big city in the Philippines. There are water vendors on the side of the road, which proves Thomas's theory (the correlation between traffic jams and street vendors) to be true. Maybe the best option would have been to book a hotel closer to the airport to avoid that. Now you know. 1.5 hours to do 18km...

12.15pm: The guy at Cebu Pacific counter told me I was 'so handsome'. I already like that airline haha.

2pm: Met Sylvie at the airport, she is taking the same flight to Palawan. It was nice to have someone to wait with. We lost track of time and missed the boarding call so they were calling our names over the speaker hehe. But we are in the aircraft now, it's all good.

6.30pm: I'm glad I booked the bus this morning on the internet, it's the first time someone's waiting for me with my name written on a board. And the bus was supposed to leave at 6pm but it left before 5pm when it was full. Plus, I met Christine from Australia and a cute American couple, Freddy and Margueret. We talked a lot and laughed. That makes that long bus ride to El Nido much more fun.

9.30pm: I like to say that this trip in Asia made me a lot more patient but that bus ride seems never ending. Despite all the nice talks we had, I'm getting extremely tired now and I wish I could just crash in my bed!

10.30pm: Finally 'home'! The people at the hotel are not very friendly but at least I have a place to sleep. And it's not a dorm which means I can't blame others if I don't sleep.
