DAY171: From Flores to Lombok, Kuta beach

11am: My host drove me to the airport early morning on his scooter. Just arrived in Bali airport where I'll basically spend most of my day. It's probably 37 degrees outside and I'm wearing pants and my fleece as I'm only allowed to check in a 10kg piece of luggage and mine was 14kg and I figured wearing my heaviest clothes would be an efficient way of lightening my backpack.

3.30pm: It's nice to be connected to the world again for a bit. The airport in Bali is way better than what I remembered. No fast food so I make do with a pizza.

5pm: Engaged conversation with a French couple while we were boarding our flight to Lombok. My instinct was right, they are going to Kuta as well, hopefully we'll share a taxi to go there.

6pm: It was such a short flight from Bali to Lombok, only 30 minutes. Can't believe I waited more than 6 hours for that. But the view from the plane is beautiful and it was clear all along.

7pm: We tried the taximeter option with the French couple - Marion and Danael - and it was actually slightly cheaper than bargaining with the guys outside the airport. I'll do it next time!

8pm: Kuta is a lot busier than last time I went. Most of the restaurants have live music, it gives a very good vibe. Already had dinner and I'm just staying there, enjoying the music and the chill.

9pm: Decided to live with the little cash I have left from Flores, which means no scooter tomorrow and very basic food - probably noodle cups for lunch and dinner. If anything exciting happens tomorrow, it would be me finishing my book on the beach. Don't expect too much for the few next days as it's a transition phase and I'll be spending a lot of time in airports again.

9.30pm: I haven't had a roommate for a while now (except Quiterie) and it feels weird to be back in a dorm. Back to reality!
