DAY193: Borneo, Sabah, Sandakan, Central Market, Sandakan heritage trail, from Sandakan to Kuala Lumpur

7am: Even waking up at 7 made me feel like I was sleeping in. Ready to start my last day in Borneo.

9.30am: The Central Market looks pretty nice. Perfect if you want to get some fruits or some fresh fish as it's at the harbor.

1pm: My flight to KL is at 5.40pm and I didn't feel like chilling at the hostel all day. The only attraction in Sandakan is the heritage trail, taking you to the cultural monuments around the city.

2pm: I kind of rushed it because of the unbearable heat. It's basically a couple of small churches and temples. And a museum that seemed closed.

4pm: On the way to the airport, my taxi driver said - in a very poor English - there were shootings and kidnappings from the Filipinos two years ago in Lahad Datu, only 100km from Sandakan. I need to check that more precisely.

6.30pm: As I'm getting used to the idea of leaving Borneo, I'm watching the sun setting from the aircraft.

9pm: Every time I arrive in KL, memories of my sleepless nights come back to me haha. But tonight, for a change, I'm going to sleep in a real bed.

11.30pm: Don't want to spend too much time in KL that I already know, so I'll leave early morning tomorrow. That's why I'm going to call it a day. See ya !
